What we Believe
GOD
We believe in one God, eternally subsistent, Creator of the heavens and
earth; He is triune in His nature, being in three persons, the Father, Son
and Holy Spirit.
THE BIBLE
The Bible in its original documents is the inspired Word of God, the written
record of His supernatural revelation to man, absolute in its authority,
complete in its revelation, final in its content and without error in any of
its statements.
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
The Lord Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary and became perfect man
while remaining wholly God. He gave His life on the cross as the only
satisfactory payment for all sin: He was buried and three days later rose
bodily and literally from the dead, thus proving His deity and that sin had
been paid for once and for all: He is now seated at the right hand of God
the Father from where He will come again in glory, he will judge the living
and the dead, the wicked will be eternally punished and the righteous will
inherit eternal life.”
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is God, being the third person of the Godhead. He indwells
all true believers in Christ in this church age, He is the Comforter and
inner power of the believer. He also convicts the unbelieving world of its
sin of unbelief of its need for God’s righteousness and of the certainty of
coming judgement. He is also the Divine Author of Scripture.
MAN
Each member of the human race is fallen, sinful and lost. Regeneration by
the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for man’s salvation. Immediately
upon receiving Christ as Saviour the believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit.
Who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those
who are God’s possession.
SALVATION
Man is saved through the undeserved mercy of God by faith in Christ; it is a
free gift and nothing of man’s effort or character can bring him salvation.
Man’s efforts, regardless of how good or well-intended --- either before or
after he is saved --- have nothing to do with saving him, for he is saved by
grace through faith not by works; it is his belief in Jesus Christ that
saves him from eternal spiritual death.
