Our self catering cabins have recently been awarded a “strong 3 star rating” by Visit Britain Quality in Tourism and a level 2 Mobility rating under their National Accessibility Scheme. This means our cabins are:- “... typically suitable for a person with restricted walking ability and for those who may need to use a wheelchair some of the time…” (see accessibility note at bottom of this page)

Both of the wheelchair accessible log cabins are self contained with all the expected modern conveniences. Each cabin has one double and one twin bedroom (all bedding and towels are provided), a level entry shower room, fully equipped kitchen/diner which includes a dishwasher, fridge, built in fan oven and ceramic hob.

The living area has two comfortable settees and a television with DVD player. You could even enjoy some alfresco dining on the spacious veranda where you can take in the view or do a spot of bird watching.

There is parking space for two cars next to each cabin. If you need to do any washing or ironing during your stay, we have a small laundry facility which can be made available to you for a nominal charge.

Set in ten acres of meadowland, you can enjoy the local beauty of the Rutland countryside.

Rutland Water is only a 10-15 minute car journey and the market towns of Oakham, Stamford, Grantham and Melton Mowbray are all within easy reach.

For those who would enjoy some local history, we have Burghley House, Belvoir Castle and Rockingham Castle within easy travelling distance.

For the children, there is the Rutland Falconry and Owl Centre close by, Twin Lakes near Melton Mowbray, Sacrewell Farm and Country Centre near Peterborough and much more.

You can be sure of a warm welcome here at The Lodge Country Park. Weekly bookings for our cabins start on a Monday, Friday or Saturday. A 3 night short break starts on a Friday and finishes on Monday and the 4 night short break starts on Monday and finishes on Friday.

Dogs are allowed, by prior arrangement, in our 'Swallow' cabin only.
