We are open Bank Holiday Mondays except for Christmas and New Year when we are closed from Christmas Eve until the first Tuesday in the New Year

The “Country Café” is part of our Visitor Service here at The Lodge Trust. By supporting us you are helping to provide adults with learning disabilities the chance to take part in work-based training.  Any profit is put back into The Lodge Trust charity, which then enables us to give more people the opportunity to gain skills in catering, hospitality and tourism.

 

Set in ten acres of meadowland, the Country Café has a warm, welcoming, bright, clean feel.  The wooden building, clad on the outside with Larch and on the inside with a fresh honey coloured Pine, has excellent disabled access.  Car parking facilities for the disabled and elderly takes up to six cars and there is a ramp from there to the main café entrance.  The glass doors allow a wonderful view of the ten acre site, which includes a country walkway and picnic tables.

 

Children are always welcome and in the summer we will have a range of outdoor toys and games available, weather permitting, to keep the children entertained.

 

We have a large display of quality craft and woodwork products for sale which are made here by our residents and service users.  Items such as handmade aprons, tote bags, notebooks, cushions, greetings cards, jams and chutneys, bird tables, bird boxes, planters and wooden games are just a few of the broad range to choose from.  Quality plants, grown in our own gardens, are also for sale all year round.

 

The café menu is available to view via the link to the right of this page.  We provide hot and cold beverages, cooked breakfast, sandwiches, paninis, salads, homemade soup, hot ‘daily specials’, childrens’ menu, delicious homemade cakes and a range of Thaymar ice-creams.

 

We are happy to cater for parties of up to 24 people (Wednesday to Saturday only) and by arrangement with the Visitor Services Manager.  We can also offer a take-away buffet service.
